New Head of OSCE Office in Podgorica to meet senior politicians

PODGORICA, 25 January 2005 - The newly appointed Head of the Podgorica Office of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu, will meet a number of senior political officials as part of a programme to familiarise herself with the current political and economic situation in Montenegro.

Ambassador Badescu, who is a Romanian career diplomat, will meet, amongst others, the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic, Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, the Speaker of Parliament, Ranko Krivokapic, and the President of the Socialist People's Party of Montenegro (SNP), Predrag Bulatovic.

During her two days of meetings which will start tomorrow, Ambassador Badescu will be accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, Ambassador Maurizio Massari.

Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu, who took up her work in Podgorica on 19 January, has had extensive experience in the OSCE and previously headed the OSCE Centre in Ashgabad, Turkmenistan.
