BELGRADE, 3 November 2008 - Ambassador Hans Ola Urstad, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, welcomed today a decision by the Serbian Government to continue to recognize diplomas on a standard form and with an UNMIK seal issued by the University of Pristina after 1999.

"This is good news, as it will allow the Pristina University graduates to find employment anywhere in Serbia. Having discussed this issue with President Tadic and with Serbian Government members, I am pleased that this obstacle has been removed," said Ambassador Urstad.

According to its mandate, the OSCE Mission to Serbia acts in close co-operation with the Government of Serbia, provides assistance and expertise to the authorities at all levels, as well as to all other interested groups, in the fields of democratization and the protection of human rights, including the rights of those belonging to national minorities.
