This event will be attended by more than 150 students of journalism, professors, journalists of traditional and online media, and representatives of local authorities and civil society organizations.
During the event, the Press Council’s Press Complaints Commission will be publicly discussing the complaints submitted by citizens last month, while participants will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding these cases.
The aim of this event is to improve the Council’s visibility among all important stakeholders at the local level and to advance their understanding on importance, work and nature of the Press Council as first self-regulatory body for print and online media.
The event is part of the project on Strengthening Media Integrity, which is going to be implemented jointly by the Mission and the Press Council throughout the year. Local partners - Media centre Nis and the Faculty of Philosophy in Nis - will help with the logistics of this event.
