About

This roundtable meeting will provide an opportunity for experts to discuss  the challenges in the implementation of the Law on Protection of Persons with Mental Problems, with the emphasis on the co-operation between courts and psychiatric institutions when persons with mental problems are deprived of liberty.

The professional audience will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with  models for improved communication between the courts and psychiatric institutions, house rules of psychiatric institutions, and leaflets aiming to improve the awareness of patients of their rights, which were drafted with the Mission's support by the Ministry of Health Working Group.

Michael Uyehara, the Deputy Head of OSCE Mission to Serbia, Berislav Vekic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Biljana Pavlovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice will speak at an opening of the event.
