The ways to prevent violence and improve safety at sports events in line with best international and local practices will be the focus of a conference that will open on Monday in Belgrade.
The conference aims to support the implementation of the National Strategy on the fight against misconduct at sports events, provide international examples of evidence based policing practices and help stimulate further activity to prevent hooliganism.
Participants will include police officials, representatives of the Serbian Football Association and football clubs.
Experts from Italy, Serbia, Sweden and the UK will share their experiences in addressing issues related to football hooliganism, role of the police, intelligence gathering and data sharing, legislation and stadium design.
Vanja Udovičić, Minister of Youth and Sports; Milosav Miličković, State Secretary of the Interior; and Ambassador Peter Burkhard, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, will open the event.
