GMMP 2025 – Who makes the news?

Since 2015, the OSCE Mission to Serbia has been supporting the research on gender and media within the Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP). The Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP) began in 1995 with the aim of empirically establishing the participation and roles of women in the information ecosystem, in comparison to men. Since then, in five-year cycles, the GMMP has covered key dimensions of gender equality in the news, gathering 94 countries in 2025. Originally organized on the occasion of the Fourth UN World Conference on Women held in Beijing, the monitoring has grown over the years into the largest and longest-running research and advocacy initiative for gender equality in the information media. The publication is available in Serbian language.
